The City of Wapakoneta maintains several parks, sports facilities and playgrounds around the city.

Heritage Park is located on the south side of the Auglaize River near downtown.  It is the home of the Farmer’s Market active from June through October, Saturday mornings at 9am.

Belcher Park is located behind the downtown area along the north bank of the river. It features a playground and a boat ramp to provide access to the Auglaize River.

Harmon Park is next to the Wapakoneta Middle School along the banks of the Auglaize River. It features The Rotary Club Gazebo next to a wooded picnic area, tennis courts, baseball fields, Wapakoneta Skate Park and the Wapakoneta WaterPark.

Riverwalk is the paved path linking the historical downtown area to all of the schools and the YMCA on Defiance Street. It runs along the north bank of the Auglaize River, then north, near City Hall and connects to the sidewalk at St Joseph School.

Veteran’s Memorial Park. 700 South Wagner Street, provides picnic shelters, a 1-mile walking track with physical challenges, baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields and a playground.

Wapak Breakfast Optimist Soccer Park, 700 South Water Street,The city park program acquired property from the Wapakoneta City School system in 2012 at the former Centennial School location for the creation of another recreational area. This was made possible through the cooperation of Wapakoneta City Schools, Breakfast Optimist Club, and Wapakoneta Soccer Club.

Rudd-Yocum Park is located at the corner of Defiance Street and Hamilton Road.  Volunteers Lois Marker and Jim Kohler have been working to create a beautiful garden with new pathways.  Many businesses and individuals have also contributed plants, materials, money and labor to help transform this into the show place that it has become.

The Wapak Dog Park is an Eagle Scout Project directed by Scout Travis Rohrbach. Scout Rohrbach designed the park, helped build it, and raised funds to transform a previous unused acre of city property into a friendly place for our pets and citizens to enjoy. The park was moved to its current location at 251 Industrial Drive due to the expansion of the Water Reclamation plant in 2020. The park’s current location will continue serving the community as Eagle Scout Rohrbach intendedfor years to come.

Evergreen Cemetary is an historical site located at the corner of Silver and Water Streets.
