Please be advised that city maintenance crews will be performing essential tile repairs on West Mechanic Street tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, 2026.

To ensure the safety of our workers and the public, the roadway will be closed to through traffic between West Auglaize Street and Buchanan Street starting at 7:30 AM. We aim to have the street reopened before school lets out for the afternoon but exact timing will be dependent on any concerns that arise during the repairs.

We encourage motorists and school commuters to plan for extra travel time and utilize alternate routes throughout the day. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to maintain our city's infrastructure.

We are proud to announce that Eric Schroeder of the Wapakoneta Electric Department has officially completed AMP’s Line Maintainer Certification Program. This is a massive milestone that requires years of dedicated study, rigorous hands-on training, and a serious commitment to the craft.

This certification, issued by the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Labor, recognizes Eric as a qualified High Voltage Electrician. Eric has been a dedicated member of our team since November 7, 2005, and this milestone is a testament to his nearly two decades of service and hard work.
