Engineering Department Notice:

As part of our 2026 Tax Levy Program, Newcomer Concrete will be replacing curb and gutters on Plum St. ( Dearbaugh St. to Buchanan St.), Park St. ( Mechanic St. to Plum St.), Indian Hill, and Parlette Ct. This work will consist of saw cutting the curb, pavement, and drive approaches that are within the orange painted areas.

Starting today, Newcomer will start to tear out curbs and gutters on Plum St. and continue to do the same for Indian Hill, Park, and Parlette next week, followed by pouring new curbs. The time frame for this work is 2 weeks. We understand this will be an inconvenience, especially those with drive approaches that are affected. We sometimes receive very short notice from contractors who are trying to complete projects within weather constraints and other jobs. Going forward, we will notify of upcoming work well in advance of notification of the contractor. We will then provide dates as we are made aware.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 419-738-5596.

Thank you,

Andy Beane

A Hot Weather Alert has been issued (warning only) through Friday (7/17). Peak shaving is recommended today through Friday from 3pm to 7pm with high temperatures and loads expected every day. AMP (our power supplier) will continue to monitor and update the City as necessary. AMP recommends conserving energy during these times to try to curtail high demand charges during peak usage periods on the grid. For those that are able, please try to conserve energy during this time period. The hope is that by keeping our peak usage lower, we can avoid higher increases to the cost of electricity passed on through the energy market in the coming years.

🚧 Downtown Curb Painting Today! 🚧

Crews will be out on Blackhoof Street today painting curbs.

What to expect: The area highlighted in yellow on the map will experience temporary lane shifts and lane closures.
Safety first: If you are traveling through this area, please use caution, slow down, and keep an eye out for cones and construction signs.

The paint dries quickly, so we expect to minimize delays and be out of the way shortly! Crews will also be touch-up painting in other areas of the downtown district today, but those spots shouldn’t cause any traffic delays.

Thank you for your patience as we keep our downtown looking sharp! ✨
